We open up in the backstage area as Davidson sits on the staircase leading up to the curtains. With his elbows resting on his lap, he looks down at the camera that is a couple of feet below him. He flashes a grin of no meaning, it's just something for the camera. Slowly sighing, he rolls his neck and starts to speak to the crew.
“Johnny Legend, the BWA World Heavyweight Champion. You know, I never really have anything against you at all... but knowing that you'residing along with Marcus Williams, it seems as if something is about to boil and you're going to be one of those guys that I hate beyond belief. But I've been in your shoes, before... nine whole months, to be exact. Along Marcus Williams side, as his partner in crime, even. Marcus and I had a friendship in the BWA last year; whenever I was in a bind, whenever I was in some sort of trouble he would be there to help me and give me any opportunity that there was. That's partly the reason why I got so much shots against the World Champions; because of our friendship, trust and belief that I could guide this federation in the right direction. But when I didn't succeed or do what I said that I would do, I would get scolded and get some heat from Mister Williams. The final straw was at May Day and as a result of that, I got fired and lost my job here at British Wrestling Alliance.”
Pause.
“Let me warn you in advance, Legend; you're going to end up suffering the same fate as I did in the British Wrestling Alliance. When you don't make Marcus happy by failing at a request he made, you'll get punished somehow, whether that be never stepping foot in the World division ever again or even getting fired from teh company. Be smart and think for yourself; be an independent person and not the bitch behind the boss. Look at what you've got: the BWA World Championship. That's all that you and every wrestler in this business have ever wanted. Now that you have it as yours, don't you think that you'd rather go off on your own and wrestle yourself, or have the boss come in and be your backup and your ally, keeping the title close to you and away from everybody else. If you were smart, you'd go solitary and be a true wrestler... but Johnny, you're not exactly smart. Honestly, you're everything that a World champion shouldn't be. Good thing that you're in BWA, because in other wrestling federations you'd be dead by now.”
He takes a slow breath.
“Although I currently look to be in bad shape, no longer being Marcus' puppet is something to be happy about. You get to be your own person and not follow his orders. If you don't achieve at something, you don't have to be under the weight of Marcus' pressure, you only slap yourself in the face and know what to do the next time in a situation like that. There's not really a thing that I can do to make you change your mind, Johnny. My talking isn't going to get to your head, not with Marcus telling you other things. So maybe it's best to learn your lesson, Johnny. But there's another way... this week on Livewire as you and Serenity take on the team of me and Holly Jones, I'll make you look like half the man you are advertised to be. Top BWA superstar? BWA Champion? Most talented person in the company? I think not, and I'll make you see what is the writing on the wall. It's facts and it's evidential that you're not as good as you and the company claim to be. There's a lot of talent in this federation that are much better in the ring than you are. Why am I bothering to say the obvious? Just so it bears in your head and so that you think about it as you lay in bed at night, staring at the ceiling as the championship of this federation rests on your nightstand.”
Leaning forward to the camera, he speaks once more.
“You won't see the light for a few months, Johnny. It's something that always happens in this federation. People fail to know what the truth is because the fame gets to them. The fortune is overwhelming and they want it to keep on coming, they want it to. I wanted the money and all else, I wanted it everything. I got it, but was I happy? Was I exactly content with what I got? In a way, yes. But now that I look back and compare those days to myself now, I wish that I could have changed my mind and fought for myself.”
Fade.
