It looks as if my arrogance got the better of me the other night on Dangerzone. I was going into that match, feeling as if I could walk out five or ten minutes later with the victory against James Tsunami... how could I not think that? I'm not putting the guy down or anything, but when you contrast what the two of us have learned over the past year and a half that we've been away from one another, you would have thought that I would learn more being in Fans Wrestling Alliance for a long time, but I guess not. Perhaps James Tsunami already knows all that I learned, or did he just have a stroke of luck at that event? Maybe my mind is still preoccupied with other things, keeping me from focussing on what's really important. All that I think of is cheating to win and after two years of failing, having a winning record of nearly 50% of my matches losses, maybe it's time I start something different. Maybe it's time that I actually give a damn in these matches and try for once and do my besta and showcase my true abilities, my true talent and my true heart and soul. I've kept all of them hidden away for so damn long that if they seen the sun, they would go blind at an instant. You can only have so many matches and losses until you realize that you need to improve or change things up in your wrestling career.
And I think that it's about time that I do.
James Tsnami defeated me for the second time in that rematch, I guess you could say. That proves right there that James didn't need luck and he didn't need any kind of miracle to overcome the odds. He's James freakin' Tsunami, as long as he has motivation and power going into a match of his, he's bound to walk out as the winner. I could probably learn a thing or two from him, but would I want to? Would I want to go under his wing and turn an enemy into a mentor? I'm seven years older than him, why would I need some advice from a younger person? I don't need his help or any other person's help, I just need one thing. One. Damn. Thing. And that's focus, my friends. It's going to be hard to concentrate in these matches without throwing an illegal random punch to somebody's face or groin, but I think that it can be done. People obviously have grown tired of my act, they don't find me as entertaining as I once was. I should care, but I don't. It's kind of hard to change your emotions, you know, but I'll try to look more interested and more caring to their thoughts. It's going to be hard to change myself from here on, but it will happen. I will be a different person.
In the wrestling ring, that is. I'm still going to be an asshole.
Ruskin Severson; "I might as well congratulate you right here and right now, James, because it's probably going to be the only time that you hear such words come from my mouth. I don't know what that beating inside of the cage did to me this past week on Dangerzone, but it has given me a whole new perspective on the wrestling sport. There were some thoughts that came back into my mind that I haven't thought of for a few years now. Maybe those two finishers you used on me sent something from the back of my head to the front where I can now think of it more often. I'm not completely sure on what the reason was, but now I'm taking fresh breaths of air. I'm breathing something clean, I'm thinking better and I'm more... motivated? I guess that after the past while of feeling like crap in this sport has changed. I don't feel down anymore, and that's strange, because I just came off of a loss against you in a steel cage. Second time in history, James, I lost to you. That was a clean win that you got, you defeated me right in the centre of that ring and pinned me for the three-count. I don't think you had doubts, I don't think you had any negative thoughts going into that match. Do I think that contributed to your victory? Partly, I think that was the reason why you won your match, but I'm not going to exclude you from this because I think all positive thoughts leads to everybody winning their matches."
Pause.
Ruskin Severson; "Seeing how I'm probably never going to defeat you again in the future, James, I think that it's safe to say that you practically solidified yourself as a new main-eventer after what happened at Dangerzone. You're going to be headlining main-events from now on, James, it's inevitable. Somebody who wins in main-event matches like that isn't sent down to the mid-card divisions for the remainder of their wrestling career, it's absurd. Over in British Wrestling Alliance, I won Livewire's first-ever main-event match in 2004... that was three years ago. Then during the summer of 2005 when the company resurrected, guess what I did again? I won Livewire's first-ever main-event match. After that, I main-evented that company until I was fired because of you. If you're not shot up in the rankings, then there's something seriously wrong with this company, but I think that will be a highly unlikely move by management. They know you can draw ratings, they know that you can entertain the fans... you're what this company wants. They need guys like you and me, and now they have us."
Sigh.
Ruskin Severson; "I was proved wrong about lightning striking twice, so I might as well say this now..."
He takes a couple seconds.
Ruskin Severson; "Congratu-fuckin'-lations."
