"So? What do I have to show and what do I have to prove? For the third time in my career I lost to James Tsunami and although the third match is over with, we could very well be finished of our sixth match by next week. On Dangerzone, James and I will take part in a series of matches where the person who wins most of the three rounds gets what they are fighting for. In James case, he's fighting for the British Wrestling Alliance championship to be brought back into American Pro Wrestling. Me? Well, I'm fighting for the contendership to the APW United States title, and lucky me, if I win, then I'll be getting my second chance at that title. Let's just make sure it's not as much of a habit as the shots I received for the British Wrestling Alliance championship, eh? But you won't have to worry about that happening since the American Pro Wrestling United States championship differs in so many ways from the British Wrestling Alliance championship. For instance, I can take this title seriously. I won't be laughing at my title shot because it's an AMERICAN title, not a BRITAIN title. On this side of the planet, things are taken more seriously. Overseas? It's laughable at what you get. But I admit, what BWA offered me was great. I appreciate it and all, but after awhile it just got kind of... old? So there went my motivation, there went my cares and compassion of being champion someday. Half of the time, I was putting on an act. I pretended to have a desire to be champion, but it wasn't really as strong as I let on."
Sigh.
"The APW championship, however... I pressured Nic and Hamid to finally bring that title into APW, I nagged them and nagged them for the whole show last week and by the end of the night, I finally made up their minds. I even told them what they should do in order to crown the first champion and look at what happened... it didn't turn out that bad, did it? James, I must admit myself that due to my creative thinking and all of that good stuff going on in my mind, it made you the FIRST-EVER champion of this federation. No need to thank me, I'm already taking the bragging rights by creating shirts that say something that you would very well LOVE to see. I mean, you always wanted a shirt on APW's shopzone, didn't you? No need to worry, because I made that possible. In just a couple of hours, your shirt will be viewable for everybody to see. And don't worry, I'll show you a little... sneak preview... because I just happen to be wearing your new shirt at the moment."
Unzipping his jacket, Severson reveals a black t-shirt that says "I didn't do *it*, Ruskin did," and he can only smile about it.
"So maybe I'm over-using the phrase of lightning striking a bit too much, you're right on that. I guess that it doesn't really matter about that anymore, and thank you for opening my eyes about that, because when the lightning is over, the rain just keeps on coming. I think that means something, James, don't you? Lightning? Rain? I'm making federations rain what are REAL superstars. Benjamin Stephens, MJ Storm, Superstar Joe, Deus, you? If it wasn't for me, where would a lot of those people be right now in the federations that they're currently at? Benjamin Stephens probably would have defeated somebody not worth standing in the spotlight. MJ Storm would still be in his first-ever wrestling federation and beat some worthless jobber for his first major title in RRUW. Joe would have no challenges whatsoever, then actually LOOK at a beer. Deus would probably have no idea what the Reckless division was. And you. You? James, if it wasn't for the Feature Presentation, I would imagine that you would be in another altercation with Marcus Williams and his never-ending line of morons. It's something you can't deny, if it wasn't for myself, a lot of those guys wouldn't be as big as they are today. I am making federations rain REAL superstars after the lightning strikes."
Ruskin pauses and takes a deep, deep breath.
"The storm is over at the moment, but you sense another one coming on, don't you? Well, I don't know if that is good for you, but it is DEFINITELY good for me. Because now that I have the chance to go up against you two or three more times this week, I'll actually beat you at my own game. Take a look at the show, James. Singles, thumb-tacks and tables. Heh. Have you ever followed my Reckless career any? I held that championship THREE TIMES. My reigns were longer than anybody's before or after me, I defined that division more than anybody ever has. I'm experienced in that division, and after learning all that I did there, I can bring my skills to the matches on Dangerzone. You know what that means, right?"
Grin.
