This is one of the biggest weeks in Fans Wrestling Alliance history. Every single year, FWA manages to do something big with themselves and another rival wrestling promotion that astounds the wrestling word since usually companies that are rivals don't often work together. Year one, it was Fans Wrestling Alliance and Britisih Wrestling Alliance. Although both were rival wrestling federations, they both alligned themselves under the MSN:WA umbrella. Year two, it was Fans Wrestling Alliance and Wrestling 2000 during the wrestling federation invasions. Right now it is year three for Fans Wrestling Alliance, and they're going to be working side-by-side with Pro-Wrestling Today in a supershow against one another. Even enemies can work together, despite what you may think. That's how wrestling works, believe it or not. One of the matches on the card, the main advertised match, is William Rodney Mercy versus Christian Michaels. Since Jesse has heat with Mercy, he has the week off and time to shape up and even get some rest before their big match at FWA's upcoming pay per view Legends ReBorn. Jesse isn't really a fan of having a week off, but if it is a decision made by management, it's a decision that he'll have to follow. So with seven days off, he has a lot of time to sit back and prepare himself for the clash.
"William Rodney Mercy is on his last legs when it comes to this industry. He has nothing more to do, nothing more to achieve and nothing more to say - and it's not because he has done it all, either - it's because he's simply losing it by the week. Every blow to the head, kick to the gut, suplex on the canvas and clothesline out of the ring takes a toll on Mercy's mind and body. He's had one concussion too many, giving him the thought that he is actually better than everybody else. I understand arrogane, I know what it is all about - but I haven't heard people as cocky as William. I don't want to get myself out of the frying pan and into the fire, but I have to say that PWT and Christian Michaels are both making huge mistakes to accepting Mercy's match and taking part in this joint-promotion supershow. The last thing we need is a hand out in front of Mercy, feeding his ego and building him up. He's filling up like balloon on the verge of exploding. As if we don't have enough arrogance around this place with Superstar Joe's new-found attitude, this could very well make things worse in the backstage locker-rooms. When I came here, the atmosphere was positive - laid-back, even. When William shot off a few times about me, things backstage took a turn for the worse. I don't know if he's responsible for it all, but I don't imagine he's exactly a great influence on the new wrestlers such as myself. Personally, I can't stand the guy. I know he's an amazing wrestler, but I'm not going to over-hype that since it could do more harm than good. Mercy might scent some blood and have an assumption that he can beat me at Legends ReBorn with all these interviews and shoots that he is doing, but that's quite alright. If he loses at the pay per view, he'll have a great fall where he will crash and burn, then the scales will fall from his eyes. He'll realize the truth about some things and smell the coffee. Welcome [to] Reality, Man - you're not as good as you once thought you were. All of a sudden, your days of arrogance will come to an end and the kid with the get-up and go will climb faster than ever before."
Flashing one of those smirks that a rookie always does, Jesse can just imagine himself succeeding in the wrestling business like his mentor did. He has intentions to do better than him, but doesn't know if he actually can. Either way, he'll keep on trying to do something amazing to build himself up to be one of the best wrestlers in Fans Wrestling Alliance's class of 2008. He does recognize the competition, however, and won't get ahead of himself and look down on them. He knows he's not even close to being better than them, but he can keep on practicing and trying his best in the ring. Mercy is one obstacle ahead of him and if Miller can beat him, he can do almost anything possible.
"Last week the gloves came off when I spat in your face. I saw how pissed off you were about it, and that's what I was hoping to get out of you. You talk so much smack that I decided to fire you up some more and show you that I was going to walk into the pay per view as serious as you were and punch you in the teeth with my bare knuckles. Things may have went awry, but what's the harm in that? I saw it as a good thing for this industry and company. We'll bleed together in that ring, something that hasn't happened for both me and you in a long time. That canvas will have a piece of art made with our blood, and FWA will keep it in their vault for eternity and not sold under the hammer. You're going to be walking the green mile, William - the inevitable is about to happen. You're feeling like this is the best part of your career thus far where you're the centre of FWA's attention. PWT has their eyes on you, W2K has their eyes on you, FWA has their eyes on you - are you a hero? Are you a role model? Are you having your second shot at superstardom? At the moment, everything is looking good for you where you have all of this confidence, pushing you further and further. But open your eyes, look in front of you - you're at the edge of the mountain. One slight push and you fall off a hundred feet and into the deep blue. Turn around and who is staring at you? I am. Now I can either do a few things when I see you inches away from where you can plummet. If I want to be a good person, I can let you walk past me and survive. But should I trust you on that? You could very well turn the tables on me and push ol' Jesse off since you're like that. So with that in consideration, I might not give a damn about you and waste no time in throwing you down. But I'm a fair guy, I don't like writing the time of death on things - so this is what I could do. I may knock you down and hold you over the edge and if I'm convinced by your so-called honesty, I may pull you back up. If not - I'll let go and watch you drop. Did you ever watch Goldeneye? Remember the ending scene with Alec and James? I'm going to ask you this - for FWA, William? Or is this all for you?"
Standing with his arms folded, Jesse hopes that Mercy thinks that question through for a very long time before he comes up with his permanent answer. He may like to say the wrong thing to make himself look tough or even non-intimidated by Jesse, but he'll probably think about his future and what could happen if he does go through with that. Jesse, as inexperienced as he is in the ring compared to the Rodstah, will try to do what he says. Making Mercy lose is one of those things, but if he fails in doing so - then he fails. He won't be down about it, it's just a learning experience for the next time. He still has a lot to learn in this industry.
"Until you find your answer, I'll continue the war of words. Just think it through or else you could have a watery grave, drowning in your ego. Keep yourself busy when you can - wrestle Christian Michaels, have interviews with television sports stations, do whatever you can to make fun of me in front of millions of people on the television. It's not bothering me, because while you are doing all this stuff to try to wittle at my confidence with a knife, I'm sitting back and enjoying the week. When the rubber meets the road, everything you did prior to our match would be considered a waste of your time. The only thing meaningful out of it all would be advertising our match and FWA's pay per view. Other than that, your words are nothing - simply nothing. You're not exactly rack and ruin, yet, but in time you will be. I wouldn't be surprised if that date was nearby in the future, William - you have a lot in your way at the moment. Christian Michaels and myself are the obvious two and if we can both manage to get the best out of you and even put you through defeat, your future in this business doesn't look good. I don't expect you'll be at the top of your game for long, or even have a second shot at climbing to the top. You had your fun in the past, now you have nothing. Don't try to do something you can't, you'll regret it. I'm younger than you, I'm in great physical shape and learning a lot of things in this sport at the moment. You're older than me, getting injured, gaining rust because you're not as active in the ring as you once were and you can't learn anything else since you've gone past that stage where new things are out of the question. You're William Rodney Mercy - you've learned it all before, right? Wrong. Even the veterans have a few things to learn, believe it or not. At Legends ReBorn, hopefully I'll teach you something that you'll have to realize - rookies like me can overcome guys like you. I'm not a believer in luck, that's why I piss on his grave."
Some wrestlers are firm believers in luck. They hope that they have enough of it going into a match, or they hope that their opponent has enough of it to put on a good match with them. Jesse isn't much for it, which is why he chooses to be Lucheist, which is Atheism towards Luck. Lucheism is for those who believe that the outcome of a wrestling match is only caused by the skills and the wits that a professional wrestlers uses in the ring. Jesse is a believer of that, and he has used his skills and wits in matches before that have won him matches. Luck had no involvement, because how can it if you don't think it's real? Exactly.
"Enjoy your match against Christian Michaels, I'll be watching it backstage and maybe use some of the things he does against you. I'm a quick learner, that's why I'm at this spot in FWA already. It's not easy to defeat Georgia James, it's not easy to hold your own against Superstar Joe or Seifer. Let's face it - even though this is arrogant, I'm going to say that I'm probably going to be a big deal here in Fans Wrestling Alliance come June, July or August. I'll be a superstar that you won't want to ever face again and if so, it will be because you'll want another chance in that spotlight. You had your chance in the past, Mercy, now let somebody else carry the torch. I don't know when, who or where it will be passed over to me, but I have a feeling that it isn't too far off. Again, that's arrogance and cockiness - but not too much of it we hear from guys like you. Alex Redding may be under your heel, even listening to what you say and giving you undeserved opportunities, but maybe he'll stop doing that as soon as he realizes that he can get somebody to fight you off. If you want to believe that you can get a shot at the Fans Wrestling Alliance World Championship, then believe it - keep yourself alive with any impossible hope you can. I know that I'm going to be laughing the whole time when I see you fail in that ring against future contenders and champions who deserve that belt more than you. Just because you had fame in a former company, you think that you can come here and get what you want because you paid your dues? Well every federation has a different set of rules - FWA needs wrestlers to prove themselves. You proved yourself, that's true, but not as much as you should have. But this isn't my company, but it isn't your's, either. If FWA wants you to be a champion, they'd put you in a contendership match by now. There wasn't one made with you in it yet, so I'm going to assume you're not wanted to hold that title. Oh well. Maybe if I become the champion in a year or so, I'll give you a shot at the title. Just to be a nice champion with credibility, right? Right."
And so we fade to black. Having the week off, Jesse is probably going to make sporadic appearances on FWA television with a lot or little to say about William Rodney Mercy, or nothing at all. He'll at least have some fun this week sittingback to relax and even watch the big match between Christian Michaels and Mercy. Although it's not quite exactly years in the making like Mercy versus Cain was, it's still something much better that involves two wrestlers from rival wrestling federations. This will be a huge match, indeed, and even though Jesse James Miller is all behind FWA for this event - he hopes that Christian Michaels kicks Mercy's head off.
